The interface
The editor has four main areas:
| Area | What it does |
|---|---|
| Nodes panel (left) | Every node, by category. Drag one onto the graph or double-click it. |
| Graph | Where you connect nodes. Every node shows a live thumbnail of its output. |
| Viewport | A live 3D preview of the node you're viewing. Press Tab for the 2D map. |
| Settings (right) | The selected node's settings. Click empty graph space for world settings. |
The graph
- Add nodes from the Nodes panel, or right-click the graph and start typing to search.
- Connect by dragging from an output to an input.
- Click a node to preview it and edit its settings on the right.
- Number fields work like Blender's: drag sideways to change the value, or click to type one.
Graph tabs
A project has three graphs, each in its own tab:
- Terrain: the shape of the land, including water and erosion.
- Vegetation: trees, shrubs, grass and debris populations.
- Colour: colour maps, splat maps and normal maps.
Send a Terrain output to another tab with the → Vegetation or → Colour buttons in its settings. It arrives there as a portal node.
Viewport and 2D map
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Orbit | Drag |
| Pan | Shift-drag or middle-drag |
| Zoom | Scroll |
| Frame the terrain | F |
| Toggle 3D / 2D map | Tab |
The 2D map shows the position and value under the mouse. It is also where you draw polygons.
Masks (Slope, Height Mask, Curvature…) are shown as a colour overlay on the terrain they came from.
Status bar
The status bar shows how much was recomputed after each change (for example "1 node computed, 7 ms") and an Update button when a new release is available.
Other panels
- Examples: opens the bundled Scottish Highlands example.
- Build: lists every output marked for export. See Exporting and building.
- AI Assistants (the sparkle on the left): lists everything connected assistants have done. See AI assistants.
